i think there is only one reason why a fan becomes “team reel”. he or she somehow hates alden or alden’s gestures. perhaps alden’s behavior irritates or annoys that fan. when the said fan eventually let go of the hatred, he or she will finally be comfortable with alden. and if that fan is already comfortable with alden, then he or she can now become “team kampante”.

I feel for her though if she still has feelings for him and suppose these glances of his are hints of some lingering attraction on his part, she’s really at a disadvantage. Is an admission by a couple in the entertainment business a solid proof that a couple is REALly a couple? Wouldn’t an admission at a time of career high, especially if it is built on the romantic possibility between a loveteam, be perceived as an act of fan service done to sustain momentum? Likewise, wouldn’t an admission during a career low be also perceived as an act of desperation to resuscitate a faltering career? I think the only time an entertainment couple should admit, especially one as popular as Alden and Maine, is when they announce an engagement and have firm plans to marry soon after. Otherwise, their admission, although it will be welcomed by their fans, will be tainted with doubts by naysayers and might be used against them to spell doom not only to their careers but to their relationship as well.
The entertainment business is a serious business to a lot of people. Network revenues run into billions per annum. And if the reports are true, Alden and Maine each earned north of Php 200 M last year alone from all the TVCs and print ads they did. When several competing networks and artists are boxing out for the top position, any information about their adversaries can be manipulated and exploited to serve their interests. It is wiser for Alden and Maine to keep their private life private, because in doing so, they limit the access of information about them that can be exploited by their competitors.
There is also the issue of fan appetite. If you want to keep the fans interested, you need to keep giving them something to anticipate and root for. During the 5 years of the Twilight franchise, actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart famously kept their fans guessing about the true status of their relationship, and the guessing game sustained the franchise for 5 years up to its final installment, earning a whopping $ 3.3 B total from all 5 movies. This is no different from the clamor surrounding Aldub. The Aldub fanbase exists because of a continuing love story in Kalyeserye. What these fans can’t get immediately from Kalyeserye, they will attempt to get from the real-life relationship of the actors. That’s why some fans want Alden and Maine to admit in real-life because they’re not getting anything from Kalyeserye. Because of this, there is an erstwhile competition between their fictional love story and their real-life one. Given this, I think the decision of Alden and Maine to keep their relationship private is very wise, because the fact is, NO fictional story in movies and tv that they will do together will ever win against their real-life love story. Real-life is continuing without a foreseeable end, versus the lifespan of a movie which is only about 2.5 hours, and teleserye which is about 6 months to 2 years. If they give people a happy ending now by talking about their private life, no one will care about any project that they will do together anymore. Real-life love stories ALWAYS win against fictional ones. So, if you’re a WORKing actor, which they both are, and your job is to act in fictional love stories and you want your fans to focus on your work, keep your private life private. Sidenote: Jadine admitted to being a couple right before their movie was shown and before their US concert tour. I caught an unverified info on twitter and IG that their movie barely scratched Php 30 M and was pulled out of theaters after only two weeks, and that their US concerts, except for the first two, were not sold out. Please correct the info if it’s wrong.
Remember, a happy ending is an ending. If you give the fans an ending, especially if it’s a happy one, they will take it as the end of the story. And they will move on to the next. If Alden and Maine gave a happy ending to their real-life love story, fans will move on and start rooting for the unfinished ones from other loveteams. Whereas, if they keep doing good fictional stories in movies and tv, every ending will be a trigger to anticipate their next project together, which is what we all want for them. We want them to be successful and to stay successful…all the way to when they are ready to announce an engagement…hopefully.

Hi nine. Agree on this. I assume you heard their presscon sa cebu? The part where they said they know who they are to each other followed by aldub will always have a special place in their hearts. A as al and maine as dub “kahit magka pamilya na kami.” My heart skipped a bit coz I thought I almost heard him say of “our own”. Nonetheless, to me it felt like they were signing off on them ending up together. Parang paalaman ang peg ng part ng interview na yon. Still, feelings change. People change. Sana. Kaya tama ka the hope on my part na maging sila pa rin keeps me hooked on this tandem. Team pinas pa nga ako to watch the movie.

@jstnbl Yes, I saw that potion on IG. But it had the opposite effect on me, like, “Whoa! Mr. Floorwax! Slow down so you don’t keep slipping.” I guess because every guy I know talks this way. Like my grandfather said that he and granny continued with their medical missions in the outskirts until “…nagkapmilya na kami.” My dad always says to my brother, “Pag nagka-pamilya na kayo, hindi na pwede yan…”. And not too long ago, two of my bestest friends who live “the life” hopping from one beach to another (they’re triathletes) came to me and told me that they’re taking a tour break. When I asked why, my guy friend said, “Magkaka-pamilya na kami.” I turned to my galpal and she said, “Buntis ako bes.” So when Alden said that beside Maine, I took it to mean that Richard is looking ahead into the future with her when they have their family, and then after they’ve raised that family, and then when they’re old and grey, they can sit together on their porch and remember the time when they were simply Aldub. He’s Alden and Maine is Yaya Dub. So yeah, kinilig ako sa sinabi nya. But that’s me.

I miss @Jojo’s points of view. I miss having small conversations with @Mari Adora using our dialect (Ilocano). I miss those times when I was just a newbie here and I had disagreements with @Nine. I miss @aiofthebeholder because she was the one who patiently provides answers to my queries (thank you!). I still smile today as I recall how @Perstaymer and Uncle Vic talked about panliligaw o pagliligawan. Hehehe! I enjoyed reading hundreds of comments here but there is one comment that I really liked. I believe this is the most outstanding comment I have ever read:

@enochcain I’m still here though I don’t post much kasi medyo busy. Besides there’s not much to discuss especially now that KS has decided to use A&M’s personal story in their story line. IMO, this resulted to undue focus on A/M lives rather than their talents as actors/entertainers. Hopefully, KS will rebound with fresh materials/arc that will hone this couple’s skill set.
Also, I may not always agree with some people’s POV in this site but I never take it personal. Far ftom me to dispute with their feelings as they are only interpreting what they see to fit their beliefs.

I don’t think my comments are more palaban today.just stating matter of factly what I thinks about events in A/M’s showbiz life.I think @jstnbl and I just share something in common with A. We believe that love is time. If you have no time for me outside of work, then you don’t love me.😫 If you prefer other people’s company , I am not special to you.
I also say that I might be wrong .That’s why I am asking if Team Real has extra inside source that’s why they are kampante.Baka naman. @enochain my dear I am for now a silent shipper but I am UPDATED. So to those nagsadabing laos na sila …hindi rin. I am over obsessing about their relationship status. But I am wishing A for a project that is not meant to be food for the table but is food for the soul to quote Ms. Jaclyn Jose. The kid got the talent, intensity and drive. As for Maine she is still full of surprises if we consider the milestones she just had. Her youthful idealism about first love and relationship against Jose’s hilarious cynical candid take about it brought tears to my eyes laughing in their Juan for all segment. Akala ko noon JFAAFJ is meant for minor talents of EB but honestly ito na lang ang inaabangan ko lately especially when M is around. And despite of her middle class background I am touched and proud that she loves mingling with people from the kalyes and learn their ways. An education that you cannot get from the confines of a classroom in La Salle nor from the books. It is eye opening and humbling. I sometimes feel that her brother-in -law John Catalan may have influenced her too with his activism. I hear and read news about AlDub that are infuriating and disappointing but guys let us chill. Their problems are insignificant compared to the hatred killings, abuse happening around the world. Bata pa sila. They still have a lot of growing up to do.

Hello po! @enochcain *kaway, kaway* adulting po muna si lola, kailangan mag ipon para sa movie nang MaiChard (so far, 4 ang scheduled viewing ko, kalurky ang pemily and prends, yun iba ayaw nang sama sama. Pero ok lang, based on the comments I’ve been seeing on twitter, the 4+ viewings will be well worth it. Worried lang ako kasi baka sa ospital ang bagsak ko dahil may pagkaviolente yung iba kung prends. Baka kailangan na ka body cast ako para iwas sa hampas, kurot at tulak. At earplugs na din siguro to save my hearing from the tili….HAHAHA

It is very obvious that the friendship between these two young people has become stronger. Let us not rush them into a relationship. They are still too young. I believe that we have to continue to pray for them. If they find each other in the end, I would be one of their happiest fans. I’d like to answer one of the commenters question about how I found this site.
I was a solid FashionPulis follower. Back when Aldub was not yet famous, I used to read articles about different celebrities. Then, I came across an article about Aldub. One of the commenters were saying something about Alden and his ex-girlfriend Julie Ann San Jose. I didn’t know much about them so I tried it to search for more articles about them.
PEP and FashionPulis were not yet blocked in our office so I was able to read some articles. Then I typed a certain keyword on Google about Alden and JulieAnn to know more about the fans’ insights towards this news. After a few clicks, I found this site.
I have a different opinion towards this fandom and the two individuals behind Aldub because I’m more of a FP reader. I am not a fan of EB or any KaPuso shows so when I read about them on FP I became curious. I became more curious when I read different POVs of hardcore fans.
I am not a fan so I don’t know what to expect or to believe. I gave my insights a few months back only to be bashed by few. I became a silent reader since then. I honestly don’t care about what the others said about my POV. That’s called an opinion for a reason. Getting bashed was the least I expect will happen to me here since most commenters here mentioned that most are level headed. I decided not to respond to the others who replied to what I’ve written, simply because I don’t know them and I don’t think I need to explain myself to them.
Moving on…
Anyway, I am getting confused. What’s with the GMAAC, Mark Sablan, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza’s issue on Twitter? It’s somehow related to the Coca Cola event. I read about it on FP today and fans are getting berserk on Alden for his management’s tweets. I’m asking because I don’t know the real score.

Thanks Ms. Tinkerbelle. But my question was about the Coca Cola event. Also, the FP readers who are claiming that they are Aldub fans are calling Alden user or mangagamit because of his management/GMAAC PR Head’s tweet, about only crediting Alden and not Maine.
Because of what was twitted, the “fans” were lambasting Alden for taking all the credit on the said tweet. Some fans are also irked by Mr. Sablan’s twit regarding Alden’s magazine cover. “What time is it? Maybe time for a magazine cover. Maybe with someone. Maybe with others. Maybe.”
Uminit ang ulo ng mga fans because hindi lang gmaac ang pinag didiskitahan kundi pati na din si Alden. So much for a single twit.

I don’t know kung bakit galit sila kay alden but obviously ying second tweet editing Maine out of the CocaCola event,talagang magrereact uing fans but what i din’t understand is why the hate on A on this.I don’t think A is a user or a liar.Never sya nagsabi derecho na oo kaya nababash eh pero rather than lie,just say nga bff or no labels.Minsan ,fans ang problema sa fandom na ito.Reel or Real,most of us will still support AlDub anyway.

Team Reel, by the way. Read all the comments and I noticed that there is an on-going poll. Team Reel because walang confirmation from them if they are indeed Real. Nothing to prove that Alden went out of his way to visit the Mendoza clan in Bulacan or Maine visiting the Faulkerson’s in Laguna. Boracay escapade is typical work day. Meng never brought any of her college bffs or Coleen with her. Once I see just a single picture of Alden with her bffs, Teal Real na ako.

With all these discussions on team reel and real, would like to post one of my what ifs about them. All discussions I am reading points back to him as reason for things not working out… Reason for not being a couple
Been thinking what if he did court her but then she realized that it can’t work out… Hence all thank yous from her, the sacrifices he did in her speech is because he sticked with her despite that rejection. 😦
Then towards the end they both decided and realized that it’s better that way than what we have been expecting 😛

This. And when Jessica Soho asked him “mahal mo si Maine?,” his answer was it’s given and Maine said there are different kinds of love. Reading between the lines tells me they have cleared who they are to each other. A must have confessed to her that his romantic interest is with someone else or wala at the moment and vice versa. But I believe that their no-label relationship (which is friendship but can’t say that dahil may movie) is getting deeper and stronger as they say.

Hmmm with that loooong line up of people 13M lang for a few hours? I am expecting it to be a lot more or are they hiding real earnings of IYAM for tax reasons? I am expecting it to be at par with MBL.

21.5 first day. I and i am sure ADN were expecting more. This is bad news as i think this is a front loaded film like the specialty superheroes movies that have a core fanbase that watches on first few days. This movie will make money but below expectations. I think it was not promoted correctly to the non AlDub fans. That is the group you need to break records. The remaining ADN members are a given. They did not manage the common movie viewers correctly. AlJen here we come?

Star Cinema pads earnings for a reason. Everybody loves a winner. Uy maraming nanood siguro maganda makanood nga. ADN seems to still need validation and got used to breaking records. Success begets success. Kung may habol pa to break Second Chance records i think ADN will pero with that first day earnings malabo na. This is why BATB beat MBL. Nang medyo humabol na ang BATB nawalan ng momentum ang MBL. Either that or ADN is not as big as we think. Plus BIR will not tax based on a news report. They will look at receipts. Theres a lot if hand wriging now on the fan boards. May the weekend bring better news.
